Wow, that certainly does go a long way in restoring your faith in society! I agree with Ruth that it must have been a real blessing to the lady to be able to help you out in that situation. How embarrasing it would have been for you otherwise!

Thanks for telling us this amazing story. It is so encouraging to know that there is not only greed and mistrust in this world. Such a story should appear on the front page of the newspaper… I had a similar, but less spectacular experience in the elevator of the nursing home next door. I was on my way down to get a cup of coffee for my mother-in-law and myself and was counting the handful of coins which I had put in my pocket - just in case. I said - more to myself: “Oh I think I’m going to be a bit short”. A lady who was in the elevator with me got out her purse and gave me Fr. 5.-, just like that. She insisted that she didn’t want it back…
